Mayan Ceremonial Cacao from Ruk'u'x Ulew
This cacao is grown, harvested, and prepared by a Mayan women’s collective in the highlands of Guatemala. Each stage of its journey — from seed to spirit — is infused with prayer, honour, and ancestral wisdom. The name Ruk’u’x Ulew (pronounced Roo-Koosh-Ouh-Leh-Ou) means “Heart of the Earth” in the Kaqchikel language, and that is exactly what you receive.
It is cacao in its purest form — earthy, vibrant, and deeply alive — carrying the energy of the land, the hands that prepare it, and the ancient spirit of the medicine itself. There is a wild grace to her presence, a steady rhythm that nourishes your body and opens your inner world.

Working with Cacao
Approaching cacao as a sacred ally is a practice in reverence. She meets you exactly where you are — reading the spaces within you that long to be nourished, softened, or strengthened.
Before drinking, take a moment to connect. You may hold a personal intention in your heart — a prayer, a question, a feeling — but come also with the openness to receive whatever medicine she wishes to offer. She knows what you need, even when you do not.
This cacao is not for casual use.
She is the grandmother of cacao — wise, deep, and generous.
You may feel called to drink her daily, or only when the moment feels ripe. Trust your rhythm. Whether you meet her in silence, in meditation, in movement, or in creative expression — let it be a sacred act of remembrance, rooted in honour and intuitive listening.
Preparation
Preparing cacao is a simple ritual, best done with presence.
Let it be unhurried — a way of honouring the medicine before it even reaches your cup.
1. Weigh or intuit your amount.
Many begin with around 30g, though your body may guide you to more or less. Trust yourself.
2. Chop the cacao finely.
Use a sharp knife and take your time. This act can become its own form of meditation.
3. Warm water gently — never boil.
Heat enough spring or filtered water to melt the cacao, keeping it just below boiling to preserve the medicine.
4. Whisk or blend.
Combine with the water and whisk until smooth. You may add a pinch of cayenne, cinnamon, or a little natural sweetener if you feel to — but she is beautiful just as she is.
5. Serve with intention.
Pour into a vessel you love. Sit in stillness. Offer gratitude. Drink slowly and listen.
